Is she the next Sheryl Crow or Phoebe Buffet singing "Smelly Cat?"

Congratulations Jessica!

Okay, so not much exciting to write about, but since I only have 4 loyal readers and one of them has big news this week -- I thought I'd send some love. Congratulations Jessica on your new job as some type of safety marketing director at CSX Railroad. Woo Hoo! I know how much you and Kevin have wanted out of the 'Burg, so yeah for you! In other news, the parents drove into Nash-vegas this weekend to escape from the snow and ice. Fun was had by all at the Adventure Science Center. My favorite quote of the weekned came from my too smart for her own good princess. As we watched Mickey Mouse Club House, MM was looking for something green and found a green duck in the middle of a bunch of normal yellow ducks. Of course the viewers are encouraged to yell out when they see the green. Sophie goes.."It's the duck, I don't know why, but it's the duck!" Don't these Disney folks know yet that five year olds are SMART! Anyway, off to watch the Super Bowl...I don't know why, but I'm watching the Super Bowl. Have a good week!

Should I be concerned?

It seems that Princess Sophie believes in capital punishment. Last weekend, while Anna was here playing it had gotten awfully quiet so I walked into her room just to check out what was going on. These picture show what I found! It seems "dolly" had cast a spell on all of the other animals and needed to be punished. "Watch me chop her, mama" Excuse me..."she's bad i need to chop her." Okay...I guess. Exactly how am I supposed to respond to this? On one hand, I think its terribly funny and creative that she's rigged up her on little execution machine. On the other...I'm a little worried that I'm raising a sociopath or Heaven forbid even worse...a Republican!

Look How Much She's Grown!

Newest picture of Lila. She's growing like a weed. She's definitely over being sick and is now pure puppy all the time! Poor Riley is about ready to take a great big bite out of her. I'm feeling a little guilty but the puppy is really so sweet most of the time.

Monday Morning Car Chatter

Well, it's back to school and work for the Vincent family this morning. Sophie did much better getting up than I had expected, but I am sure she'll be exhausted by the time she gets home tonight. I bet bedtime will not be such a trial this evening! Today's car conversation was pretty funny - at least to me!

Sophie - Will Grammy and Grandfather have more kids?
Me: "No, I think they've got their hands full with the ones the have. I think they just want grankids now.
Sophie: What's a grandkid?
Me: It's their kids kids.
Sophie: Do we call Grandfather "Grandfather" because he's Grand.
Me: Uh yeah...something like that!

We also talked about what states everyone lived in. You should hear the southern accent she used to say Alabama...Aunt Kiki would be proud!

Happy New Year and all that

So I started 2009 completely worthless after drinking a bottle of wine on NYE. We had lots of fun at our friends the Tarkington's house and Sophie got to see her first ball drop on TV. She was ecstatic about being allowed to stay up until after midnight. Of course, she also fell asleep in the car within 5 minutes of us leaving. Her schedule is so off from this holiday season. She's been going to bed after 10 and getting up around 9 each morning. 6:00 is going to come awfully early for all of us on Monday! We took all of the Christmas decorations down yesterday. It's always so sad to see the holiday go away not to mention a gigantic pain in the ass! I have really decided we have way too much stuff -- I just don't know what to do with it all -- I'd love to have one of those houses where everything had a place and stayed in it -- but that just doesn't happen. Oh well... I know I am incredibly blessed both by having a great family and friends as well as job! Here's hoping 2009 is a good one!
